Sam's NZDJPY trade from June + management tips for the club
When did your trading journey first begin?

I can't pinpoint on when exactly I dedicated myself or took trading seriously, and when I really committed however, I do vaguely remember when I became aware of trading.

I met Nabeel, who is now my partner and a fellow member of TMC from school and we were quite close, but neither of us really shared any interest in trading at that time of our friendship before we eventually went our separate ways and lost that friendship we had. There was a period of a few years where we weren’t speaking when I came across Timothy Sykes, the "penny stock" trader course through social media and had this strong fondness in it and wanted to know what it was all about. I researched further, signed up to his emails, watched videos and opened a broker account. However, I felt like I couldn't wrap my head around it so I eventually put it on the back burner.

Fast forward to 2016, Nabeel and I rekindled through social media. I was studying full time whilst he was in a part time job. He would always be on the phone with his father talking about the markets or ditching me due to the London/US session and it became so frequent that I had to ask what it was all about. I always had this yearning for more than what everyone around me was doing which was working and living within the means of life and what was given to them. And it was how the universe re-united Nabeel and I as we both really had that same longing and neither of us really had a clear plan, and it was then when our journey to search for more really started.

Samantha and her partner (plus fellow trader), Nabeel

After deciding I wanted to know more, Nabeel sat down with me to teach me the basics of what he knew, which was not very much at that time, which planted the seed and over time started to sprout and expand, both for Nabeel & I.

Our interest at that point started to strengthen and this compelled Nabeel & I to learn more and to find out how to really capitalize on profits and be consistent in the markets leading us to Infinite Prosperity which I remember asking my mum if she could help me out and lend me money to pay for the IP course which I'd pay her back for, although I never did.

That is when the journey started. We fully committed and sourced ways to make money to purchase TMC 1.0 and fund our trading accounts. We worked, sold majority of our belongings including cars and material items that weren’t serving us or bringing value to us and went back to minimalism. We went from blowing accounts, to doing Uber Eats together where we got to a point of not even having enough money to fill up petrol for deliveries, barely making ends meet to finally taking things seriously, growing our accounts and being funded to having a 6-figure month.

Samantha's Trading Setup
What was it that made you want to pursue trading?

I grew up watching my dad become a restaurant owner and wanting to be like that, only to come to an understanding that it was just a projection and conditioning from my childhood. I desired to own multiple restaurants or own my own franchise, however as I grew up whilst working there, I came to find out that lifestyle didn’t resonate with me. I knew I wanted to be financially independent, and to be able to generate wealth and riches on my own terms without being stuck in the work > home daily schedule, or being capped at how much you can earn, or being time restrained.

"I knew I wanted to be financially independent, and generate wealth and riches on my own terms."

$50k in debt and my degree didn’t give me the answer and is now collecting dust somewhere in a drawer, but it gave me the work ethic and resilience to be patient and to play through the pain.

Seeing the lifestyle that Timothy Sykes and Amy Sangster had, that resonated with me more. Where there are no limitations on where I could live nor having to work to sustain a lifestyle and trading offered that.

What is something unexpected that you love about trading?

The psychology game you need to play.

Peak performance, emotional and mental strength through the discovery process of self-imposed and conditioned limitations, beliefs and values which shifts and changes your identity, and the habits and practices I have implemented in my life was only because of trading. Meditation, reading, natural supplementation, plant-based diet, running, expanding one’s comfort zone through regular action regardless of perceived outcome and creating a callused mind irrespective of present state of emotion.

Others call me foolish, but I just call it committed to and obsessed with making this work.

"Others call me foolish, but I just call it committed"
What advice would you give to an inspired, driven individual about to step into the trading world?

Trading is quite simple, although it’s the psychology that can become challenging, it’s the ‘mental game’. Clear out the negativity, chaos, and toxicity around you, whether that be moving out of home, hibernating from your usual social circle, deleting social media or even if it requires you to be on your own, then do it.

If I could change one thing during my journey it would have been to move out of home years ago.

“Feel the fear and do it anyway” - Susan Jeffers

To those struggling with self-confidence or worthiness, do something that makes you uncomfortable every day because on the other side of temporary pain, you get introduced to your other self.

"Get out of the comfort zone and get comfortable with being uncomfortable."

This will allow you to strengthen your character by building self-confidence, resilience, and determination to find the means to progress in any event or circumstances of how tough things can get, this will reflect not only in your life but also in your trading.

"You have to be willing to go to war with yourself and create a whole new identity" - David Goggins

What new belief, behavior, or habit has helped you gain the most forward momentum since becoming a trader?

You must put the work in – value for value. Multi-millionaires don’t sit on their ass and hope for wealth to drop onto their lap, they put in blood, sweat and tears – huge dedication, motivation and drive. I always think of that which keeps me going for just one more day. I want to look back in 5 years and be happier than I currently am looking back, so I just do the things that I basically hate doing and constantly put myself in positions of being comfortable with being uncomfortable.

My morning routine is also a must to keep me aligned – gratitude, meditation/reflection, reading, exercises, fasting until noon, feed the brain with informative content.

"You must put the work in – value for value"
What do you believe are the three most important characteristics of a successful trader?

Gratitude is the shortcut to success.

Consistent action in all areas of your life.

Resilience & commitment; the world doesn’t wait for us. The sun rises and the sun sets, and the days go on, and if you keep waiting to ‘feel’ like it, then you’ll only ever end up telling yourself in hindsight how you should have done it. Do it anyway, whether you feel like it or not.

How has Trading MasterClass assisted your evolution?

The skills and knowledge that I have gained through the webinars, community support, the constant evolution that Irek, Molly, and this group have committed to is something I can’t put into words. All I know is they forever share a special place in my heart. Thank you, Irek & Molly.

You make a huge step in your trading career and think you got it all down perfectly but then Irek constantly comes out with some refinement, content, insight, or knowledge that just pushes you to become better than you thought you were.

From reflecting on how these strategies use to be and to how far they have evolved these past years feels like we have come a long way as individuals and as a community/family, but I still know how much more progress there is yet to come. It feels so f**king good to be a part of this community and the abundance that radiates from Slack is just so encouraging and heart-warming.

"The abundance that radiates from Slack is just so encouraging and heart-warming."
What are one to three books that have deeply influenced your life?

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne - As simple as this book may be, it was the first book I ever read and completed. It changed the way I thought and the way I saw things.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill - On page 74, Napoleon gives a summary of instructions on an affirmation that you repeat each morning and each night. I remember at the start of my trading career I had already placed majority of my money in a trading account and had $700 in my savings account. I decided to spend more than half of it buying bulk items off Alibaba and turned the figure into $15,000 in one month. I only came to the realization that after acquiring that, the affirmation that I was consistently saying each morning and night, it had come to fulfillment. This book has many hidden gems and continues to be one of my favorites due to the main purpose of the book. "You can become anything that your mind deems possible. As a result, your mind becomes the one thing that can either stop you or propel you towards becoming the best version of yourself." -Napolean Hill

Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins - Highly recommend this book, incredible story & many benefits we can implement into our everyday life. "You have to build calluses on your brain just like how you build calluses on your hands. Callus your mind through pain and suffering" - David Goggins

"You can become anything that your mind deems possible"
What is your next immediate trading goal?

The journey to an 8-figure personal account: grow the c$100,000 > $1,000,000> $10,000,000.

Get $1 million in funded accounts and use the profits to deposit regularly into my personal trading account whilst actively trading and compounding my personal account and scaling my risk to 3% on it.

If you start with a 6-figure account and compound an average of 5% per month with 3% risk and monthly deposits of $5,000 as a minimum from funded accounts, you can expect to see a 7-figure account in under 12 months of consistency. Let me point out, this is with only $5,000 monthly deposits from funded accounts. You can exponentially speed that up by loading up funded accounts consequently allowing larger monthly deposits and greater horizontal diversification as well.

When you are considering something, you need to break it down as simple as you can - how are you going to get there?

Any final words of wisdom?

The experiences that occur within your life and even the markets are the best teachers to make you the individual/trader that you truly desire and intend to be. We are all going to experience a different journey for ourselves, however one of the biggest changes in my life was consistently acting with high vibrational frequency/energy. Eliminating all the shit energy I was surrounded by whether that was friends or family and just hibernating and focusing on personal development, my trading and my life’s task.

"The experiences that occur within your life and even the markets are the best teachers."

If you don’t have experiences, you will never learn or grow. Consistency lapses into everything in your life, and trading opens the door to dig deeper into your own life allowing us to better ourselves daily.
